- From Labouring to Learning is a longer-form output arising from a period of sustained ethnographic research effort. The longitudinal qualitative study (two and a half years) gathered participant observation and interview data of a group of young men in a de-industrialized community, from the ages of 16 to 18, within and beyond educational settings. The book captures the complexities of the classed, gendered, and heteronormative processes involved in the re-traditionalized practices of masculinity. The book is major update of the existing knowledge around working-class young men and has been deemed of international significance in the field of men and masculinities.
