- This chapter is included in a Welsh language edited volume which considers the work of the cultural historian, Hywel Teifi Edwards, and his purview on Welsh theatricality. This chapter, dedicated to Edwards’s engagement with Wales’s National Pageant, presents a radical interpretation of the work as an agent in the re-orientation of Welsh drama and theatre by means of a legitimisation of ‘hitherto excluded minorities’. It offers new insights and articulations of Welsh theatre and performance and substantially enhances the discourse, the knowledge, thinking and understanding of Welsh performance.
