- This work is an output of an international collaboration with researchers at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and National Institute of Informatics in Japan, supported by three grants, e.g. from Microsoft (H-ZD89). The novel technique proposed uses both offline and online heuristic algorithms to address the multi-user computation partitioning problem in practical cloud systems with many users and high demands for computations under certain scheduling delay. The evaluation conducted shows its significant performance improvements over related techniques. The work has significantly influenced subsequent research in areas like mobile edge computing as well as 5G and vehicular networks (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/6945323).
