- The paper introduced the novel theory of using microwave reflectometry to develop a non-contact measurement technique to determine contamination levels on HV insulators. The work reported in the paper proposed the theoretical concept which was validated through rigorous experiments. The work has been cited in a wide variety of studies on contamination of HV insulators, for example Y. Liu et al, Access IEEE, 2019; J. Bi et al, Access IEEE 2020; and D. Zhang et al, Energies, 2020.
