- The significance of this paper lies in the development of a Knowledge-Based System (KBS) to assist the implementation of Lean Six Sigma (L6σ) principles to improve maintenance quality in buildings, consequently improve their sustainability. The KBS allows practitioners and managers to assess current L6σ perspectives while implementing different maintenance strategies. This paper formed part of PhD of Dr Aldairi who has currently applied lean principles to public buildings in Oman.
