- This book provides an exploration of the roles of production, distribution, and consumption in the co-creation of the podcast listening experience. It defines a new category of inquiry for podcast studies research. It meets the criteria for double-weighting as an extended piece of research, which deploys a complex range of methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative audience analysis, production studies based on industry projects led by the authors, close analytic listening and content analysis. The research use an extensive range of primary sources, including interviews with over 50 podcast producers and leading industry figures in the UK, US and Europe.
