- This longer-form output demonstrates sustained research effort that took around 8 years to complete. It collected and analysed a large body of material, including over 20 book-length translations and 5 short story collections by Davis, works in French (by Blanchot, Leiris and Proust especially), related theory and criticism. Through its analysis of this material, the output demonstrates that translation and other instances of rewriting are central for understanding Davis’ prose. Given its research into such an extensive range of material and its analysis of literature and translation, the output is expansive in terms of both scope and scale.
