- This book is a long-form output which develops an extended application of mobility theory to theatre and performance, demonstrating in depth the critical potential of performance to intervene into practices, concepts and experiences of movement. Surpassing the existing scholarship around walking art to address multiple modes of travel entailed a sustained and broad cultural and historical research process. The range of research materials drawn upon in developing this analysis was considerable, moving across dramatic literature, theatre, live art, film, popular music, sculpture, marketing, museums and the wider historical and cultural contexts within which these forms are created and encountered.
