- The research was funded by EPSRC (grant EP/J020745/1) including industrial partners, Doosan Power Systems, E.ON, Parsons Brinckerhoff and PQ Corporation. The findings in this paper have demonstrated the potential industrial applications of such a kind of solid adsorbent for CO2 capture at a commercial scale and the potential transfer of the technology from coal fired power plants to natural gas fired power plants. Further EPSRC funding (EP/L020777/1) was won as a result. UH is currently exploiting with Drax power station, UK funding opportunities to demonstrate the use of the proposed absorbent in their plant.
