- This study follows on from the author’s Catalonia: National Identity and Cultural Policy 1980–2003, and is thus the result of nearly a decade of research, tracking closely the growing Catalan independence movement from 2005 to 2013. It necessitated extensive archival research, and is broad and interdisciplinary in scope. As well as offering a detailed historical account of the political parties and civic associations in contemporary Catalan politics, it analyses in depth the contribution of literature, film and television to the support for secession.
