- This is the world's first publication presenting extraction of surface texture data per ISO 25178 from X-ray computed tomography (CT) scans. This work led to an interlaboratory comparison, published in a Q1 journal, with participants including the UK's National Metrology Institute, NPL ( The National Physical Laboratory). The research also led to the award of a $700,000+ Innovate UK project (3-in-1 X-ray CT inspection, REF 103466), which included automation of the extraction process. This work also led to collaboration with a premier laboratory in the U.S.A, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, which funded a $15,000, 12 week sabbatical in California
