- As a senior member of the SPIRE Gould Belt survey team, I participated in the definition of the Herschel Gould Belt Survey programme. I instigated the project on which this paper is based, supervised the work of PDRA and lead author Marsh, contributed to numerous discussions on the contents of the paper with Marsh and other co-authors, and reviewed and commented extensively on drafts of all sections of the paper.
