- This output is based on oral testimony from a databank of 91 interviews with 106 individuals, aged 26-100, conducted by the author since 2005. Hundreds of hours of conversations took place on three continents, covering emigrants’ experiences in 16 countries. Oral methodology is blended with equally time-consuming archival research, the interviews being supplemented by extensive and dispersed material from collections in London, Edinburgh, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the USA, including the Ellis Island Oral History Museum collection. The output can be heard as well as read, as in 2020 the book was published as an audio book.
