- In this collaborative work with the National Physical Laboratory funded by EPSRC (grant EPJ005223), we have developed a procedure for measuring camera spectral sensitivities of two cameras. The novelty in our approach is that it follows a rigorous measurement protocol and consequently the potential measurement errors are estimated at each wavelength. Further, we tested the performance of various sensor estimation algorithms on measured and synthetic data and also evaluated them on the measured ground truth data. The dataset has been made available for future research (https://spectralestimation.wordpress.com/data/). The paper has received a significant interest and a number of citations.
