- Double-weighted statement
- This book involved extended and sustained research effort, including the collection and analysis of a large body of material, and presented critical insights dependent upon the completion of a lengthy period of fieldwork. Primary data collection was undertaken in Indonesia between 1970 and 2015 (mainly funded by the ESRC), including a critical period in 1996. This was accompanied by a long period of analysis culminating in 2018-2020 with the award of a Leverhulme Emeritus Fellowship.
