- This 70,000-word research monograph was the culmination and main output of a four-year period of research focused on global justice and animal rights. That research began in September 2014, and was helped by a semester of University study leave running from September 2015. This lengthy period of dedicated research time was crucial to facilitate the complex study which not only brought together the subfields of animal rights and global justice, but also grappled with debates in bioethics, environmental ethics, democratic theory, territorial rights, toleration and legitimacy.
