- This 324-page co-authored book stems from an ESRC-AHRC-BA international visiting fellowship and ESRC international collaboration led by PI-Anderson (2009-13). It integrates a wide range of archives from the UK and India with ethnography and interviews. Its multi-layered integration of theory, methods and sources from history, historical geography, history of science, and anthropology enables exploration of themes from multiple perspectives, straddling both the British and post-Independence period. Anderson led on the Introduction (26 pages) and Conclusion (4 pages) and is sole author of three chapters based on original research (#3 - 33 pages; #5 - 35 pages; #8 - 30 pages).
