- Double-weighted statement
- This is a genuinely comparative book, with 86 interviews taking place in three distinct research sites (Brussels, Geneva and London) on the basis of Siles-Brügge’s ability to conduct them in numerous languages. A research design of considerable scale required that officials from the European Commission, European Council Secretariat, national governments, the World Trade Organization, trade NGOs and trade interest groups were amongst the interviewees. In addition, countless documents created by these organisations were also reviewed and, where necessary, translated. The time spent in the field assembling data was underpinned by successful grant capture and stretched over four years.
