- This monograph is the first to consider international migration and citizenship in Wales from a linguistic and social perspective. It is a large ethnographically-informed study conducted over four years, including 50+ semi-structured interviews with government officials, language tutors, migrant students, focus groups and participatory action research in north and south Wales as well as Quebec, Canada. Drawing on Kymlicka’s theory of liberal multiculturalism and international debates on interculturalism, the result is a vital interdisciplinary contribution to the field of language and citizenship studies in Wales.
