- Additional information
- Although the three editors split the writing of the Introduction equally, each writing the section corresponding to the essays for which they had oversight, the output is being submitted by the author with editorial responsibility for the contributions and who also contributed a chapter entitled ‘Wilkes and Scottish Liberty: The Reception of John Wilkes in The Weekly Magazine, or Edinburgh Amusement’. Copy-editing and proof-reading was divided equally among the editors as per the structure above. This volume arose from a 2010 Glasgow symposium co-organised by the three editors who share research expertise in the Scottish periodical press, bringing together contributors from Scottish historical studies, Enlightenment studies, Romantic studies and Scottish literary studies.
