- This book is the output of a research effort which began in 2010 with an original quantitative analysis of 143 stories on the BBC News website; it developed between 2010 and 2016 to include analyses of hundreds of relevant news stories across the British print and online news media, and interviews with dozens of stakeholders including journalists and key players within these news narratives. Its insights are critically contextualized within a theoretical framework which investigates the prevalence of myth-making and ideological symbolization within news narratives and popular discourse.
