- Temptation in the Archives is a collection of essays by Jardine in which she analyses the unique relationship between the Netherlands and England in the 17th century forged through a shared experience in six chapters. It represents her final substantial publication (162pp). Jardine presents her study of key figures from the Dutch Golden Age such as Sir Constantjin Huygens, a Dutch polymath and diplomat, elaborating the Anglo-Dutch cultural connections against the backdrop of political events in 17th century England. The text is supported by Jardine’s transcriptions of inaccessible archival documents used in her research.
