- This proof of concept paper demonstrates a decentralised battery management system able to achieve cell voltage balancing and synchronisation of decentralised power electronics without external communications links. The work in this paper is also subject of a patent "Smart cells and control methods and systems" (US US20180241239A1) and is being pursued by a spin-out company, Brill Power Ltd., based in Oxford, who have so far raised more than GBP1,000,000 in seed funding (Co-founder and CEO, Brill Power available to corroborate).
