- This work presents a novel solution to calibrate on-machine measurement errors of an embedded interferometer resulting from machine vibration, kinematic motion and sensor linearity errors. Achieving less than 15 nm measurement repeatability. This work resulted from my role as a steering board member and work package leader for surface metrology on a €5M H2020 project (ProSurf-FOF-06-767589). The method was further tested on fast-tool-servo freeform machining and contributed to a core platform research task of EPSRC Future Metrology Hub (EP/P006930/1). It also led to collaborations with world premier laboratory in Europe: IWT of Bremen (Dr Oltmann Riemer: riemer@iwt.uni-bremen.de).
