- Double-weighted statement
- The monograph is the result of research between 2005 and submission of the final manuscript in 2013. The transnational scope of the research required multi-sited field and archival work in the Middle East (Iran, Lebanon, Syria, the UAE), Europe and North America (the UK, France, the US), and Thailand in Southeast Asia. The primary source material is diverse, consisting of official and private archives, more than 80 interviews, organisations’ publications, published memoirs, etc. in a variety of languages, including Arabic and Persian.
