- The spatial quarter-wave impedance transformer is an impedance matching technique used in multiple fields such as circuits and electromagnetic wave propagation. We proposed for the first time the temporal analogue of this technique by exploiting spatio-temporally modulated metamaterials. Our approach can enable reflection-less propagation and frequency conversion of electromagnetic waves in real time. This work has been presented in invited conferences such as URSI GASS and the prestigious Rank Prize 2019 enabling new collaborations with Dr Daniel Torrent (Universitat Jaume I, Spain) and Dr Vincenzo Galdi (University of Sannio, Italy).
