- Double-weighted statement
- The book combines in-depth empirical work on trade unions in five European countries with a comprehensive comparative analysis of the German and English-language law, history, and industrial relations literature. It examines the relationship between trade unions and labour law at a national and European level after recent EU enlargements. The research for the book required physical library access in five European countries, detailed interviews with high-level trade union officials across these countries, and an extensive analysis of primary material, little of which is accessible electronically. The book constructs a complex, multi-disciplinary argument which bridges the gap between theory and practice.
