- The study involved collaborating with a small community in order to develop tailored energy system strategies. The method combined a series of stakeholder workshops with an existing energy system optimization model and multi-criteria decision analysis. The study led to one of the co-authors (KM) setting up a start-up energy consultancy company Greenventory, based in Freiburg. Greenventory obtained start-up funding through the EXIST program, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). The first author (RM) enabled establishing this consultancy and remains an Advisor on their Board.
