- This monograph is the result of detailed research carried out from 2008-2017 which involved collection and analysis of a large body of material, including live and recorded performances, published and unpublished plays, archival research and original data obtained through interviews. The book extends knowledge of black British drama by examining it in its historical, social and political context in the UK and in relation to international contexts. It was shortlisted for the STR Book Prize and nominated for the TaPRA Early Career Research Prize. The research also informed a 10-part radio series for BBC
