- A detailed synthetic and kinetic study of the synergistic effects of aluminium and organic catalysts on the synthesis of cyclic organic carbonates from CO2. It is possible to use catalysts based on sustainable materials and even low-cost ionic liquid organics so alone. Up to 20% conversion enhancement was achieved using the twin catalyst system. The work was funded by the Thai Government and the research led to a large EPSRC Programme Grant (P/K001329/1). A number of plenary and keynote lectures resulted from this RSC invited paper.
