- Double-weighted statement
- Demonstrates sustained research effort since 2008, when its editors started to organise and catalogue Gurney's papers. The archive had been unnavigable, with thousands of complex primary sources: a jumbled mass of undated poems, letters, essays, verse plays, photographs, and musical scores. By investigating watermarks, handwriting styles and content, we arranged the papers chronologically, reuniting drafts of poems and creating a detailed catalogue for researchers. Having established that only one-eighth of 2000 surviving poems had appeared in print, we began our five-volume variorum edition to bring the entirety of Gurney's poetry to publication.
