- This significant paper builds on extensive, internationally leading published work in the area of sputter-deposited thin-film calcium phosphate coatings and their bioactive properties. The results have contributed significantly to the development of novel cell culture surfaces, used for the maturation of stem cells to an osteoblast lineage without biological stimulants The methodology developed contributed to patent application WO/2016/156315A1 - A Method of Depositing a Coating with Variable Topography onto a Polymer (Published 6th October 2016). The paper also led to a Keynote lecture at the 5th China-Europe Symposium on Biomaterials in Regenerative Medicine, 7t-10th April 2015, Hangzhou, China.
