- Double-weighted statement
- This volume is the culmination of over a decade of sustained theoretical research and reflection on the past, present and potential future relationship between art and anthropology. The research involved detailed analysis and reassessment of a wide range of historic and contemporary art and anthropology practices as well as first hand ethnographic research on the experimental art scene in Barcelona. This multi-layered inter-disciplinary exploration of convergences between art and anthropology is also a critical reflection on the nature of the gift, providing an in depth re-assessment of one of the key concepts in anthropology.
