- This theoretical-experimental work was performed in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, and used start-of-the-art computer simulations combined with advanced experimental techniques to improve the properties of BiVO4 for use in solar water splitting (production of hydrogen fuel from water using solar energy). Extensive experimental work is now ongoing elsewhere inspired by the theoretical results reported. Part of this work was included in the PhD thesis of Gokul V. Govindaraju that was successfully defended at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
