- This book is based on a large body of material collected during an extended period of fieldwork exploring Tibetan approaches to mental health, illness and healing amongst both lay people and medical and religious specialists within a Tibetan community in India. Using case studies and interview material to examine in depth the complexities of illness and health-seeking behaviour within a culturally- and medically-pluralistic context, the work addresses current debates in the growing field of 'global mental health'.
