- Nyhan is the lead author of Computation and the Humanities. She entirely wrote 3 of the 4 analytical chapters that are included in the book (i.e. chapters 1, 17 & 18) and made a contribution to the planning and editing of chapter 2. She conducted 13 of the 14 oral history interview included in the book; she was moreover responsible for all aspects of the conceptualisation and planning of the 14 interviews and for all aspects of their editing, preparation and contextualisation as included in this book.
Computation and the Humanities presents the first rigorous oral history account of the history and development of Digital Humanities. In the 13 oral history interviews that Nyhan undertook for the book, and in the four analytical chapters, she has insightfully unpicked the shifting, complex and heterogeneous dynamics that have underpinned the emergence and development of the field and the experiences of those who have helped develop it. As of November 2020, this open access book has been downloaded some 177,205 times. Its download rates were almost triple the discipline download average rates for 2018.
