- Jointly funded by the EPSRC 5G grant, Seamless and Adaptive Wireless Access for Efficient Future Networks, and the German Research Foundation DFG, the paper introduced for the first time an interference alignment (IA) topology for applications in cellular communication networks. The proposed technique jointly optimised interference alignment and the limited feedback transceiver in multi-cell interfering networks which greatly improved data rate performance. The research was exploited by project collaborators Vodafone and Huawei, to implementation and analyse the performance of Multi-Cell MIMO in typical, imperfect channel state information scenarios.
