- This Special Issue of the Journal of Design History explores the relationship between architectural history and design history, two disciplines with close subject matter and methodological links, but which have developed distinct institutional and academic identities. Kelly co-edited the special issue with Claire Jamieson. Kelly wrote the call for papers, which was approved by the editorial board of the journal. Jamieson joined as joint editor and Kelly and Jamieson were jointly responsible for selecting papers to go forward to peer review. The editorial board of the journal managed the peer review process. Kelly and Jamieson then worked with the executive editor of the journal and the authors to finalise their papers for publication. Kelly and Jamieson co-authored the double-blind peer-reviewed Introduction which frames the articles contained in the Special Issue. The process of writing was split equally between the two authors. They swapped drafts, added further information, re-wrote sections, re-ordered and cut information. The final proofs of the Introduction were corrected and approved by Kelly. Final proofs of the special issue were corrected and approved by the executive editors of the journal.
The Special Issue as a whole is out of scope for open access requirements. Kelly's introduction to the Special Issue is compliant with open access requirements.
