- This paper offers a new and simplified approach to evaluate the vertical refractivity profile within the lowest 1 km of atmosphere from the analysis of surface refractivity, Ns, in areas where upper air data are not available. The data analysis was performed over 17 years of measurements, producing results identified as making a unique international contribution. It has brought international and national support with Seven Group Technologies through KTP project KTP008734. This work formed the basis of Abou Almal’s PhD work who is now working as senior engineer at Etisalat UAE.
