- This 10-chapter, 407-page interdisciplinary monograph is a long-form output demonstrating sustained research effort. It is the first comprehensive study of how song lyrics and other texts involving music are translated and extends existing definitions and perceptions of the fields of music and translation, as well as the relations between them. Part One explores the intersections of music and translation; Part Two considers current practices and research into the translation of musical texts; and Part Three proposes a novel exploration of music as an instrument of translation, particularly in relation to the natural world.
