- Vibration elimination in large volume distance metrology is essential in real life manufacturing environments. A novel concept (GB2529752) enables instantaneous and exact tracking between two counter tuned lasers and thereby deliver a cost effective and superior approach to eliminating the detrimental effects of vibration in real-time measurements. This technology will lead to real impacts in large volume manufacture where accuracies are required in noisy environments such as airplane and large turbine construction. Patent has been assigned to the National Physical Laboratory and underpins a cumulative investment >£3m at NPL with £600k being allocated to USW.
