- This study extracted and analysed data from 465 cognitively normal patients aged 69-71, all members of a national epidemiologic study, the MRC NSHD/1946BC. It aimed at identifying a link between blood pressure changes in adulthood and alteration in brain structure or development of pathologies in late life. Using a unique design, this study presented the first work examining blood pressure measurements from early adulthood into midlife to late life and explored their effect on future brain pathology. The result suggests that early monitoring and control of blood pressure might impact positively in brain health later in life.
