- In Defense of Housing: The politics of crisis (Verso 2016) is a co-authored monograph based on a broad range of topics in urban sociology, urban planning, and housing studies. Representing a synthesis of years of archival research and fieldwork conducted by the co-authors over their careers, the book investigates the political economy of housing in a wide variety of urban and national contexts, involving extended historical and theoretical analysis integrating various perspectives conducted by the two co-authors working in different cities. The book was completed over a period of 3 years, working over a sabbatical and other teaching breaks.
