- This wide-ranging study describes the evolution of UNESCO’s thinking about education in the context of global politics from the humanistic post-war period to present-day economistic approaches to lifelong learning. The book is the outcome of five years of research that started while the author worked for UNESCO, which facilitated her access to primary sources and key informants. The book is based on archival resources and interviews and consists of six substantive and distinct research-based chapters, each of which could stand alone as a scholarly paper.
