- Higher and Colder is a full-length single-author monograph of over 80,000 words, representing substantial and sustained research conducted over many years. It draws on research that was conducted in archives in three different countries, as well as over 200 primary sources in four languages. It makes an extensive and detailed argument about the conduct of science, and the relationship between indigenous and western science in the 20thcentury, which needs to be made across an extended research text.
