- Double-weighted statement
- The book involved the collection and analysis of a considerable body of material gathered over several fieldtrips to South America. The latter spanned six years, 2013 to 2019, and was funded by the Brazilian Research Council CAPES, Newton Fund, ESPA, ESRC and AHRC. The book is a reflexive exercise informed by the series of projects with the assistance of colleagues and research assistants. The text is enriched by South American literature texts, in particular poetry. The work took a significant amount of time because of the different, but complementary, aims of different projects and case studies around the Amazon Region.
