- Introduces the concept of a clock for synchronising nanomachines in application to molecular communications. It resulted in the award of a grant from the National Science Foundation of China (61502295, CNY 250k, 2016-18), to enable further research specifically on this topic. The authors were later invited to write the section "Synchronization of Nanomachines" in the Encyclopedia of Wireless Networks (https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-32903-1_219-1). The output contributed directly to a successful application for a Marie-Curie fellowship (EC H2020, 792799, €195k, 2018-20) on molecular communications for the Internet of NanoThings with applications to healthcare and smart homes.
