- This work, sponsored by Anton Paar Company (Austria), developed a new shear tester for powders that can use very small quantities and low stresses, an area not previously possible yet essential for the design of small equipment processing high value materials, e.g. pharmaceutical processing plants especially for the new trend in continuous manufacture. The resulting shear tester is on the market selling in many countries, and influencing the design of many new pharma manufacturing facilities. This work was selected as the best research in the session ‘Fluidization and Fluid-Particle Systems’ of the 2016 AIChE.
