- Nevitt's contribution to the publication is as co-editor, as co-author of the introduction (he wrote half of it), and as sole-author of 'Books in the News in Cromwellian England'. He did all of the original research, data collection and presentation, and writing up of the original research in his chapter on book advertising in seventeenth-century printed serials. As co-editor of this journal special issue, Nevitt shared equal responsibility for establishing the overall intellectual framework, identifying suitable authors for each area, and editing the essays they submitted, ensuring the coherence of the whole volume.
