- Doherty was part of the core group of researchers responsible for installing and testing the new digital data acquisition system, which was the key technical innovation responsible for the success of this experiment. At Surrey, Doherty worked on techniques for analysing pile-up waveforms (the novel analysis techniques employed in this work) and consulted with the 1st and 2nd author on applying them to this data set. Furthermore, Doherty was involved in the physics interpretation and contributed to writing the paper.
